What a hot mess! This is such a disappointment it hurts my heart. Everything about Disgaea 6 screams “made for mobile gamers” from the shallowness of auto-battle to the pointlessness of the micro-transactions. It’s a shell of a Disgaea game gameplay-wise, and just washed out and ugly graphically. This truly hurts!
My only conclusion is NIS wants an excuse to stop the console business model, and continue with the more predatory mobile app where the life-long fans are strong armed into spending real money every day on the Disgaea RPG app. Because as it stands, that mobile game is better than Disgaea 6, and that isn’t saying much for the Disgaea legacy at all. Grade: D+
