I just finished watching Jubilee today. It left me crying, with such a huge sense of loss. So many lives wasted, so many dreams shattered.
But that's what show biz is all about. And in the times they have shown people who went for acting usually were not qualified for anything else, unlike today's educated youngsters. They had no future outside the film world.
I loved the old world style of the movie. Superb direction, sets, costume, music. Everything just right. The last episode had shades of Pyaasa and Kaagaz ke Phool, and the real life characters of Gurudutt and Geeta, bless their souls. And bless the makers of Jubilee. You sure have a Golden Jubilee hit!
