Sadly I give this one 3 stars for diversity of culture that exists around the world today. The storyline revolved around Toula's father's wishes to reconnect with his roots. The one million dollar question is why was Gus cremated when his character was consumed with pride in being Greek Orthodox...??? That part was questionable... but being greek and thinking outside the box got me thinking that they wanted to create an "ancient Greek" spiritual scene send off ... I love the characters and was sad the mother wasn't part of the trip to Greece along with the main family cast because as a "whole family" the movie would've come alive with the Greek sense of humour we're used to. Overall Greece was breathtakingly beautiful especially the village coming alive. This isn't meant to be a bad review just an expression of thoughts.
