Sorely disappointing - in performance, storyline and everything in between.
I thought it would get better after the first episode, but it kept getting worse. Still I powered through the first 5. The sixth I could not watch beyond the first 10 minutes. What god awful acting. Lee Jung-jae is a notable exception. And of course, the few seconds we get to see Carrie-Ann Moss were amazing. I will note that a lot of the negative ratings are possibly review bombs. That is why I really wanted to like this series but it is SOOO bad. I rewatched Ahsoka just to get over the disappointment. The protrayal of the Jedi in the grey is not some clever trope that this series has thought about - it has happened in many franchises where the wholly positive characters have been eventually portrayed to have a darker greyer side. This story where Jedi are grey could have been told with so much more depth and finesse - this is just god aweful in every way. For a 180 million$ budget, it just seems so low effort and so low quality. The whole " underdog versus institutional threat, How did we get to a point where a Sith lord can infiltrate the Senate and none of the Jedi pick up on it, the Jedi practice of training children, and other negatives and questioning the amount of power and control that the Jedi have in general" could have been done so so much better - with so much more character and nuance.
Please please do not make any more of this. If it were not for the upcoming Andor second season I would cancel my Disney plus subscription.
