I like how even though the book is directed towards children and smaller audiences, it's quite thrilling. There's a number of dark scenes in the book, such as when the aunt tortures Stella, and great plot twists like the detective turning out to be the aunt. Unlike many other books, it gives you hints and clues to plot twists and makes it easier for me to understand what's happening and make me less confused. Overall, a satisfying read as always from David Walliams.
