Donatella Serra

Not one of Shyamalan's best in my opinion though as with all his films, he plays his Hitchcockesque cameo, this time however, his daughter also joined him as one of the main protagonists. I thought the storyline was a little slow for the first 30 minutes but thank goodness for Josh Hartnett and his wonderfully psychotic smile. Not sure about the casting of Hayley Mills as the profiler, she looked and sounded more like someone's granny with her gentle tone. Good twist at the end, shall not say more but definitely worth a watch.

The original film, The Talented Mr Ripley, portrays better acting,storyline, more emotion, better characters than 8 episodes of this Netflix rehash. The plot almost makes no sense especially the scene where Dickie is being bludgeoned to death on the boat by Tom, in his last moments, he looks up to his assailant and calmly asks him to help him...really? Atmospherically shot to be a little like film Noir but save yourselves the time, just watch the original.
