best thought of as reverse of previous album Erotica: warmth and intimacy you can play at your mother's house vs. Erotica's cold, callous, sleazy hotel lounge vibe. exceptions to that generalizing description being BS's track 6 Human Nature, which could belong on Erotica, while Erotica's track 10 Rain could belong on BS, maybe after track 09 Sanctuary
