Though it was often aesthetically pleasing, the movie focused on peculiar parts of Marilyns life. They made the movie oddly sexual and focused on speculative rumors rather than what we definitely know about the star. One could argue that was the point of the movie, however I don't think it was excuted well and the movie just came off as an edgy teenagers art project. One scene that I thought was especially odd was when they recreated her crime scene photo, only to have her wake up and kill herself later. This scene doesn't sit right with me because that isn't what happened. Don't make a movie about the life of a star if you aren't going to make it accurate. It's not artistic to me, it's just dumb.
