I just saw this movie and totally enjoyed it. The acting was really good and the story kept my attention to the end. Very few movies bring me to tears, but this one did, from Peter's goodbye to Miriam to the very end. Wish I could get it on DVD. It's so very inspiring. Highly recommended.

I'm a big fan of Kurt Russell and for some reason this movie popped into my head and I look for it on Amazon to buy on DVD. I could only buy a four movie set so I went ahead and bought it just to get that one film. I'm glad I did. Although it does have a lot of mild Gore, it doesn't have any nudity and includes only one profanity that you barely notice. It's really an entertaining film that flies by before you notice. But what I like best about this film is Todd's sweet relationship with the mute boy. It ends on a happy note with most of the colonists going to Trinity moons and then Todd standing by the window with the boy in his arms pointing something out to him. You rarely see these happy endings in modern films. And it's never a father-son relationship that you see. I have watched this repeatedly since getting it. Kurt Russell was his awesome in this movie as he was in Elvis.

Thankfully I didn't go to the theater to see this disaster of a movie. Instead I recently bought the DVD and attempted to watch it. It was so awful I found myself frequently fast forwarding. The only parts of that movie that I even mildly enjoyed were Ken's scenes. I don't know how this catastrophe did so well at the box office.

I was unaware until just recently that there had been a sequel made to BLADE RUNNER. The original was one of my favorite films. I owned the director's cut on DVD and read the book. So when I heard there was a sequel made I really wanted to see it, and hoped that it would be as good as the original. I thought the plot was very good, and was an excellent choice, since the original ended with Rachel and Deckard flying off into the sunset together. And the hunt for the child made for a gripping mystery. I thought that Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford were great together, and I would have liked to see them move on to BLADE RUNNER 3. Unfortunately, for me anyway, the movie was ruined by the apparent death of Kay and the Revelation he was not the child, by the in your face nudity every other scene, by the relentless Erie music, and by the creepy successor to Tyrell. Does anyone in Hollywood know how not to ruin a movie anymore?

This is one of the best movies I have ever seen. It's heartbreaking and inspiring at the same time, as well as one of the sweetest love stories. And it's made even more amazing by the fact that it's a true story. I think what adds to the beauty of this film is that it's put out by pure Flix, which means an absence of profanity, nudity, and sex. I have watched it repeatedly since buying it, and will probably continue as long as I can. So glad I bought this film.

I agree this movie was not the best. It was clearly not up there with SINGING IN THE RAIN, or WEST SIDE STORY. Still I thought it was very cute, and would have given it five stars anyway if it wasn't for the sad ending and the profanity. I don't know why today's Hollywood seems to have a bias against happy endings. It seems to me they could have made Sebastian's dream story the real one. But they didn't so I give it three stars. So to the other reviewer, nobody wants to see the harsh realities of life. Most people go to the movies to get away from the harsh realities of life. I think this movie would have been as much of a box office success as it was a critical success if it had gone with the happy ending of Sebastian's dream.

I heard a lot of great things about this movie originally when it came out, and now recently since BARBIE. So when I saw the DVD for sale in our local library for $2.50 I bought it. I was hoping for great things, considering the amazing reviews, but in the end I threw it away. What kind of a great guy bullies a girl into going out with him by threatening suicide, promises to be whatever she wants him to be, and then endangers both their lives by suggesting they lay in the middle of the street. Not to mention the fact that the way he pursued her bordered on stalking. That combined with the animalistic sex and fleeting nudity rated this movie zero stars for me. Unfortunately the least you can give it is one.
