I was unaware until just recently that there had been a sequel made to BLADE RUNNER. The original was one of my favorite films. I owned the director's cut on DVD and read the book. So when I heard there was a sequel made I really wanted to see it, and hoped that it would be as good as the original.
I thought the plot was very good, and was an excellent choice, since the original ended with Rachel and Deckard flying off into the sunset together. And the hunt for the child made for a gripping mystery.
I thought that Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford were great together, and I would have liked to see them move on to BLADE RUNNER 3. Unfortunately, for me anyway, the movie was ruined by the apparent death of Kay and the Revelation he was not the child, by the in your face nudity every other scene, by the relentless Erie music, and by the creepy successor to Tyrell. Does anyone in Hollywood know how not to ruin a movie anymore?
