So what's the deal about this film? I see rave reviews everywhere and cannot understand why. Having read the book back in 2009, I was looking forward to watching the series. What a disappointment! Dragged out to 14 (!) episodes ( out of which I even missed the last one, which didn't add any value at all), it was painfully boring, contrary to the book. The lead characters, especially Dexter is not working at all, it totally simplifies the character found in the book. Decades pass by in the plot and there is no sign of it, not a wrinkle, a sign of tiredness, not even a change of haircut for Dexter. This whole thing doesn't do justice at all for the brilliant book.
