Like some people who've posted here, I don't get the bad reviews! This film is so funny and also intense. I watched it on the plane, with some editing (the second dream sequence was cut out, for obvious reasons!) and then again on streaming, and I was so impressed both times.
The whole package is quite a lot to take in, but I think Jennifer Connelly and Alice Englert's performances are so real and vulnerable, everything about it: the script, the sound, the photography and the premise are all so original and unusual. I wonder if because it doesn't really fit into a single genre, or is unlike any other kind of film.
I really look forward to seeing what the filmmaker does next.
