Just to let people know - this film is gory, if you don’t like blood and guts, this is NOT for you I really really really enjoyed this film. My bf and I had been putting off watching this for a long time and I wish we hadn’t! This film had me feeling so uncomfortable- the cinematography and acting was top notch. The demon was genuinely terrifying, whoever plays Ellie the mum did such a good job. There were moments where you can see things going on in the background of shots which makes you feel so on edge, but there were also some jumpscares too to get your heart beating! This is one of those rare films where I didn’t just laugh at the person being possessed because it’s so ridiculous and didn’t scare me- the possession of the demon genuinely scared me a lot and really gripped me to see how it was going to end. The moment where Ellie first enters the flat after being possessed was actually really scary- the way she moved, eye movements, the voice- you genuinely have a feeling of impending doom where you just genuinely don’t know how the victims are going to get out of the situation and what the demon is going to do next! I want to emphasise again that I was actually really impressed by the acting in this film! I liked how the ending tied back to the beginning. Definitely definitely worth the watch if you can get past the gore!

Was pleasantly surprised by this film- I like supernatural/paranormal films anyway but this exceeded my expectations. First, the setting is cool, it’s like a creepy care home set in an old Manor House which I liked. Also it doesn’t have gore so if you’re not feeling up to blood and guts then I’d recommend! (the way they treat some of the residents is sometimes hard to watch but I promise it is relevant to the story) I liked the way this movie unfolded, the story was unexpected and different from just questioning whether someone has dementia or if they’re actually seeing stuff in real life. As for the ending, it’s not as bad as you think and what others have said, it’s actually quite original and I do kind of understand why she did what she did- after all she does make hints about her thoughts around age decline and how she came into the care home in the first place because she didn’t want to be a burden on her family! It generally made me unsettled and it was creepy with the right amount of jump scares. The acting wasn’t amazing but definitely not the worst I’ve seen! If you like paranormal-like horrors with a creepy setting and a few jump scares added in then it’s perfect for you! Definitely worth watching!

This was a horror/thriller film with a cool concept that was just terribly executed. (I also swear to god the film is paying people or bots to give this movie good reviews because it was really not good) The characters are SO annoying, so I didn’t feel like I was rooting for anyone at all. I don’t know why they have to make every single horror film with gen Z characters (my generation btw) with drinking and partying and them acting stupid and cheating on each other as the main plot line, it’s just irritating. My bf and I guessed the “twist” from the start lol Also when they explained the “omg so shocking” stupid pathetic story about forbes’ sister at the party that happened literally 8 years ago at the beginning of the film which they spoke about as if it was the most shocking thing ever, they spoke about it so fast that I honestly found it hard to keep up with, and tbh I just didn’t care about some girl and who she slept with and the petty high school drama bullsh*t. Like seriously have these people got anything better to do in their lives than speak about some random girl that they haven’t spoken to in years and some random night that happened 8 years ago??? It didn’t give you enough time to get to know the characters and what their names were before all 8 of them started swapping bodies, so I was just confused trying to remember who everyone was! I liked the idea of mind/body swapping gone wrong but it was just so poorly executed, the characters were annoying, the acting was terrible, and it was just overall so unnecessarily confusing I do not rate this film at all, and coming from someone who watches a lot of thrillers and horrors, it’s just really not worth the watch unless you’re into petty high school drama which a group of grown adults in their mid 20s-30s are still talking about.

Just for a pre-warning, this isn’t a horror film, it is more of a coming-of-age psychological drama/mystery film. I found the plot interesting, and I didn’t find it slow at all, it actually made me more intrigued to find out what was going to happen. The acting is great and not your typical story- it is about the relationship between a young boy and an elderly billionaire who become friends after the billionaire hires him to read to him 3 x a week (his eyes are getting weaker with age so he can’t read properly any more). But they develop a good friendship, and the boy even gets his friend a phone which they communicate with. The billionaire passes away but the boy still gets messages from the old man even though he’s been buried, and he seems to keep helping the boy through difficult times, but not in the best of ways as you’ll see…. There are some creepy moments and it is an eerie film. Although it wasn’t what we expected, my bf and I still enjoyed this film!

I don’t understand why so many people are hating on this film… My bf and I are horror movie fans and have seen many horror movies over the years- this film genuinely creeped us out and had us hiding behind the duvet. It also isn’t like “every other horror movie” and is quite unique. The acting is great and so much better than a lot of horror movies I’ve seen that are rated high on rotten tomatoes- Freya Allan stars in it (she is also in The Witcher and Planet of the Apes) so I don’t understand why everyone is hating on the acting and saying they’re novices??? And yes, characters in horror movies make stupid decisions but that’s just how it goes, and if you were in a stressful situation like that then you would too… The setting of the film is creepy and different- in a pub, and I liked that they didn’t go into the ritualistic stuff too much or into why the Dad inherited the pub. Remember the film is only 1h 30 mins (like most horror films) they can’t include everything!! It just explains enough for you to understand the reasoning behind Baghead and why the Dad didn’t see her much! There were some good twists and I appreciated the ending. Good balance between jump scares that actually made us jump and moments of suspense. If you’re thinking of watching a scary ghost/paranormal horror movie this Halloween that won’t take all night then this is for you!!

I don’t understand how so many people are blown away by this film. My bf and I are horror film fans and went to see this after reading all the good reviews, and seeing all the hype. However it was just a modern-day Chucky film- nothing special! We expected it to have a huge twist in the plot or something in the storyline to make it a bit different, but no! So we just came out pretty underwhelmed and a bit disappointed after expecting a bit more. The start of the film was super slow and then the rest of the plot was just so so predictable. For a thriller/horror, it just wasn’t very scary at all and more funny, as well as being a bit immature with the singing and dancing scenes. We do commend the actresses and actors- they were very good. And it was cool how they created an actual AI doll for the movie. However in terms of the plot, it just wasn’t revolutionary in any way and just wasn’t scary. Worth watching if you’re a fan of thriller films but I wouldn’t watch again.
