Fellow enthusiast of the comic here, I am not sure I can continue this series after the third episode. My partner is new to the series and immediately was turned off on the second episode. This adaptation is by no means beginner friendly. While the visuals are most certainly incredible, the story is rushed, the music is lacking, and a series with the protagonist’s name in the title is practically absent the whole time. The first episode was beyond deceiving, and I have lost interest in giving this a fair shot.

As a Tetris addict, I was excited to hear a movie adaptation of the story behind this franchise was coming to be. I have listened to the story many times, a YouTube documentary by Gaming Historian to be exact. The movie is fantastic and well shot, but it is much too fast paced. It appears as though the story is jumping from one spot to another without a slow break to process. A 1 hour documentary on YouTube makes it much easier to understand than a 2 hour movie. If you’d like a slower paced but very informative take on the story, I highly recommend The Story of Tetris by YouTube channel Gaming Historian
