The ignorance of this show is so productively clear and plays directly into those countries who find Americans dumb and desperate. To allow Americans who have zero preparation of culture, language, food or position to go to foreign countries expecting a romantic connection, long term, shows the absolute, bottom-dwelling nature of the TLC channel. The TLC channel, with shows like these, should be ashamed with how they use ignorant guests for the sole purpose of advertising. TLC's complete lack of any cultural respect stands alone.
