Although I felt bad for the many victims of the crack epidemic and believe there should have been more help in the communities, I still don't buy the notion that the government intentionally played a hand in selling the crack in black communities. Was the government involved in allowing so much drugs into the U.S.? Yes, of course, but I believe that was a more higher-level bureaucratic outlook by close minded politicians who were just focused on winning the Cold War. The paranoia of the black community, their dependency on government programs, and their overwhelming unwillingness to take responsibility for their own actions, was greatly highlighted in this documentary.
