I loved this series. [Spoiler alert] It presents the major issues Greek society but also societies in many countries face. For example, drug trafficking, domestic abuse and how society knows about it but turns a blind eye [however, easily judging the abused but not the abuser], discrimination for being gay [and the relevant difficulties young adults face], and the big age gaps in romantic relationships [and the relative scorn from society]. All these take place in the beautiful setting of the Greek island of Paxos in the Ionian pelagos, but also Athens. As the center story is the forbidden love between a 19-year old woman, a piano player, and a 46-year old man, a maestro, the tonality of the series is a romantic one, so manage your expectations. This is not 'Law and Order', or 'CSI', even though there are drugs involved and a murder to investigate. Note however, all the issues are well presented, and the viewer will not lose interest. On the contrary, I binge watched both seasons. Even the music and photography alone make this series worth to watch. Enjoy!

I loved it so much, I watched it TWICE this opening weekend!!! This was the biggest cinematic crossover ever, and a culmination of all MARVEL stories of the last decade very well put together - at least for the most part. Can't wait to add it to my collection when it comes out in youtube or DVD. I am a little sad because this is the end of an era. I will not say more as I don't want to spoil the fun from the people who have not seen it. I can guarantee you however that if you are a Marvel fan you will enjoy it :)

This series is excellent. SPOILERS ALERT. For haunted House movie lovers, I am sure you will find that there are clear similarities with the 1999 movie 'The Haunting'. In both the house name is Hill, the character names (but not the personalities) include the Dudleys, Nell, Theo, Luke, Crain and there is even a phrase that Mrs Dudley says to Nell in the movie 'in the night, in the dark', that Nell says in the series (last episode I think). The plot is different, however, in both it revolves about childrens' souls being trapped. In the Haunting it is the evil Crain that traps them. In the series it is the mother, becoming insane by the true evil of the house who wants to 'wake up' her children to keep them forever with her. In both the movie and the series Nell is the kind spirit who is the caretaker for the family's needs and the one who is actually sacrificed. I enjoyed both very much but I loved the series, best.

SPOILERS INCLUDED... A psychological horror movie that avoids all clichés. I loved the acting and Lanthimo's direction. Do not expect the typical emotional and fast acting we see in movies of this genre. I could even characterize this movie as a genre of its own! The acting is devoid of any emotion with the exception of the father who breaks down near the end, either because he finally feels guilty for what he has done in the past, or because he finally comes to terms with reality and realizes that he loves his children and does not want to lose them. Yet, he is too selfish to sacrifice himself and deliver proper justice for his sins. Instead, as a coward, he let's chance decide. The music is like a jolt of electricity and provides most of the emotion in the film with crescendos at key points. 10/10
