The atmosphere is the only good part about the movie. The acting is subpar and the story grows boring. Why? Because we cannot possibly care about any of the characters; there is NO backstory. Things just happen for the sake of happening. The phone receives calls from the dead...just because. The Grabber--who is a cheap copy of Phoenix's Joker--just exists and kills children just because. Who cares! If the writers invest no time in caring about their own characters, why should I? Where other people reviewing here think that the lack of explanation and effort equals suspense, I find that it equals BOREDOM! If you are bored and it is free, go ahead, but do not spend dollar ONE on this one.
