Glenn Appell

I have Cred as a popular music historian who co-authored a textbook on American popular music. I love all styles but this album by Jason Isbell is quite remarkable on a host of levels. He’s a remarkable songwriter with politics that resonate with my own worldview. And even though he’s telling some mighty tragic stories about our world today the band still totally rocks out on multiple levels. Go see them live if you can because in the modern world of rock/americana it doesn’t get better than this!
