I loved the show. It is a crazy ride, and definitely not for everyone. It is a grail quest, but not your standard. It's a bit of Monty Python and the Holy Grail mixed with Indian Jones and the Last Crusade along with a pinch of the Divinci Code. The story borrows from religion and reinterprets and reimagines. So you will find a lot of traditional Christians hating this. Let's be clear: this is sacrilegious with dark humor and will not work for those holding to standard orthodoxy and theocracy. But for those that are not so bound, it has touching messages of faith. The show also has elements of "Now you see me" and "The Prestige" as it involves magicians. And it has its central focus on AI with notes of "Her," "Wargames," and "Forban: The Collasus Project." I hate that some people here have given some things away, and I don't want to contribute to spoiling to refute the spoiling done. But this is a magic show in part--and so you really can't evaluate what you've seen unless you see it through to the end--except that it will not please orthodox American fundamentalists and people sensitive about religion. That helps make it great for the rest of us though. One last note: everything gets wrapped up in one season as a very complete story. I can't imagine a second season--so haters need not worry. I left 100% satisfied! Definitely worth a watch!
