If y’all seen Ari Asters “Hereditary,” this follow up, is Indy horror, done with themes/symbolism/artist expression/mental state/drugs being several elements explored, while gore/bloodshed is plentiful throughout. Within a Cult in Sweden, that lingers onto Norse mythology and traditions; and their terrifying/gruesome hidden secrets, kept hidden from the outside world; Story and writing, practical effects, cinematography, set design / costume design overall excellent. (plus sound/score)
A film you should check out! It’s kinda like “Hereditary” in terms of style, but different story. I am drawn to Indy films/ Indy horror, particularly because more artist liberties, and going even further with unique, different story telling for film sake.
I await to see this Directors next Horror installment.
