Beautiful and immersive. A thriller. An emotional story that keeps you wanting for more. Even after finishing the whole game, you would be wondering what happened to Joel and Ellie (protagonists) afterwards. You would be craving for more of this game and the experience that it provides.
This is not just a game, this is a journey. A journey of Joel and Ellie. The journey takes you to the post apocalyptic world, where one's own survival is very tough. Despite this, you have, incidentally, taken the task of safely escorting a girl to some mysterious organisation which presumably will have a cure (vaccine) through the girl. On this trail, you will encounter the hordes of zombies which are always out for your blood. If not zombies than some group of guys will always be chasing you. whereas the resources to avert them will always limited on your disposal.
Naughty dog has nailed it this time. If you are familiar with naughty dog's unchrated series, you would see the obvious similarities, but beyond that it's completley new territory. Whereas the former is more of adventure and action packed into one, the latter is more of a survival horror with a bit of action here and there. Here your resorces are limited, and the best you can do to push through any how. I think, it is the pinnacle of story driven gaming.
This is not just a game, this is a lifetime of experience. You will not just play but live this game. And after finishing once you will be yearning for more of this experience. A sense of loss will linger, a feeling that you will no longer have access to Joel and Ellie journey. That, like all beautiful things, this journey too has come to an end. This game is an artistic perfection- beautiful yet sad, frightening and scary yet pun-filled and humourous.
