It was okay. Not Pixars best and not Pixars worst. I feel like this is the kind of movie that I won't remember much of in a couple of years.
I'll start off with the bad first
First off the pacing felt really off. It felt like the 2nd half of the movie was rushed. They introduced new characters and don't really give you enough time to get to know them before this whole heroes journey arc is done.
Secondly, I'm not sure if this is a Disney Plus issue, but the size of the screen would change when they went into space. Like the movie would go to full screen when in space, but then immediately go back to having the black bars at the top and bottom of the screen when they weren't. Which I found really jarring.
And now the good.
The voice acting was well casted. While it is weird not having Tim Allen voice Buzz, I feel like Chris Evans did a good enough job at it. However I feel like the casting of both Kiki Palmer and Taiki Waititi were great and both really sold their respective roles.
The story was decent enough. It was your typical heroes journey story, but with what feels like an extra up and down to it than I'm used to.
In closing, it was decent. It was nowhere near as bad as The Good Dinosaur or Cars 2, but it cannot hold a candle to the Wall•E or Ratatouille.
