Unlike anything I have read in a long time. The lyricism of the writing floored me, revealing the most brutal of all truths. The memories and ways of the ancestors resonated as I acutely felt the same when I visited the country of own ancestors several years ago. I could feel them in my bones, and they shook me into remembering things I had never experienced but needed to remember to be whole. This is how this book felt, and it will stay with me.
