Both of my grandmothers died of dimentia/alzheimers in care homes. This spoke to me about how they must have been experiencing the world around them and all of it broke my heart all over again. Especially when the husband was abusing the father. My grandpa abused my grandma when she developed dementia. When my family took her to a care home she said "You're just throwing me away." That cuts me to the bone to this day.

The visuals and world building are outstanding even today. The colonialism and white savior do it no credit. I wonder if you could watch it silently and with no subtitles if you could just enjoy the sheer amount of work put into how it looks.
