Film is uneven and ultimately forgettable. As usual, I wonder whether the hard-core comic book fans will revel in the canon and Easter eggs enough to truly enjoy the overall film. Scenes often felt contrived to include one of those historic elements, such as her Invisible Plane. Despite her powers I don’t believe even WW can get an old, short range fighter jet to expand its range to Trans-Atlantic. Or that the guy flying it could go from prop planes of his era to jet engine flight in a hot minute. We have to suspend belief to some extent with any super hero movie, yet physical realities that have nothing to do with the hero’s powers must remain.
After over a decade of these types of films, the script and character development must win out over effects. It was too long and in the end just okay. A fun ride for a carefree summer flick, no one will be talking about an overhyped WW84 in 2021 other than it belongs ensconced among the disappointments of a grueling year.
