What can you say apart from one of the greatest not just westerns but all-time. Just caught on English TV on a miserable autumn Sunday afternoon. What's not to like with the two handsome leads in Mature and Fonda. Just wish I'd recorded it from the beginning for Christmas afternoon.

I'm writing while half way through 4th episode. That's how riveting the series is. Oh so predictable. Not one character to root for. Poor Sam Neil what a lemon part to play. Was there not one family member who could stand up and say ' are you kidding? Who is this total stranger with no past living in the house?' no asked her where she lived , where were her family, to identify herself with something. Is this meant to be for adult viewing or the wokey gay community out there?

Bless the 80s horror movies.... A bunch of atypical screaming birds running around in heels. Unless you are snowed in don't waste time on this junk.

Once again the Scandi's have nailed it. How come these few countries in the north of the globe always make the most thought provoking, intelligent, entertaining movies. What an absolute gem of a story of four wonderful characters bonding in the unlikely backdrop of a secondary school. Wonderful, wonderful.

This film is such drivel it's comical. I stopped it that many times not believing anyone actually wrote the script with serious intentions. Why was she walking back up the mountain instead of following a road that had to be a round the old shacks? Why did she enter a cave covered in plastic and dead stuff and the entrance? Why? Why? The entire movie is full of WHYS?

Just finished watching The Promised Land and as per norm the Scandi"s have pulled off another blinder. Everything from the acting to the landscape to the dialogue nothing is as you expect. A couple of familiar faces if you are a regular Scandi movie viewer but apart from that no top billing thankfully. If only the yanks and British come to that would follow their lead and not tread the same old path of predictable scripts we would have a film industry worth embracing.

Just watched Predator again for maybe the seven or eighth time. It is one movie that never fails to deliver no matter how old. It is without doubt the best sci-fi movie ever made and the scene of the monster coming out of the water with Arnie camouflaged is one of the best cinematic scenes along with Omar Sharif coming through the desert in Lawrence of Arabia. Pure cinematic brilliance.

I found this little gem tucked away on BBC iPlayer. If you like your music rocking and bluesy and top class acting from the greats of the screen of the past then this film is for you. Didn't disappoint and the music rocks.
