Excellent portrayal ok LAin mid 1940s. Mina had Marlowe close to Chandler's portrait not like
inaccurate one of Humphrey Bogart.
Story ends very suddenly and not lwuite pulled together.

Nicola Upton has created a memorable series that simply improves book by book.
I enjoyed this recasting of the film Rebecca.
Two points however.
When Josephine is in the Chicago train station in September 1939 Americans were not in uniform. USA joined WW2 On 7 December 1941 after bombing ig Petal harbour
The issue about fingerprints on murder weapon unclear. I won't give my doubts as spoiler.
