Spoilers: So honestly I liked this movie and the concept, but the ending is what hurt this film to me. No outing the big dark secret to the dad before he’s offed, and then you’re left unsure if Mia is trapped in the mirror world forever or gone, then the movie just ends without a hint of how things are going to be for now on, etc. If they at least showed an epic reveal of the dad knowing she knew and a mental break of his, and more explanation of what happened with Mia at the end, it could have saved it. Otherwise, that disappointing ending knocked down what could have been a decent scary movie to a “meh” one.

I’m a long time paper Mario fan and was very surprised to find this one on my switch to be great. I got addicted and couldn’t put it down til I finished it for days. Of course it’s not as great at Paper Mario 64 of Paper Mario Thousand Year Door, but those are very hard games to surpass. I think officially Nintendo finally made a proper sequel to those two with Paper Mario Oragami King. The premise is similar, you see different worlds, Olivia your partner is funny and adorable, it’s humorous, fun, the whole deal. It’s truly a very fun and charming game and I recommend it to any Paper Mario lovers. I was so disappointed with the one for the Wii, so was worried to hate this one. Was very glad I did give it a chance and don’t regret the decision. I enjoyed it a lot and my favorite switch game so far, was just a blast. Still collectibles, extra stuff to do, etc. Wish you had more party members but you meet a few temporary ones and always Olivia. Truly gets five stars to me just a blast and cute game, some battle differences but nothing annoying and keeps it fun. Hope eventually they make a downloadable version of paper Mario 64 for switch though I doubt they ever will. A girl can dream lol. If they make another true sequel l after this I’d definitely try it if it was similar to this one.

Man, what I wouldn’t pay if they released this for switch like they had with other classic Mario games. My favorite Nintendo 64 game and so much fun. Played through it many times, and 15+ years later I still have this paper Mario game just sadly need to rebuy a 64 system to replay it. Such a blast. This and thousand year door were both fantastic in their own ways, but this just has such a magical charm. Forever one of my all time cherished games, and childhood favorite along side TTYD, Harvest Moon DS, and early Pokémon games. Love it so much, really can’t be matched.
