This movie is absolutely a movie made for the fans. I can entirely understand how you may be confused if you were going into the movie blind having never learned the franchises lore prior to the film. That being said, when it comes to being an existing fan of the franchise, it fulfilled and honestly exceeded my expectations. I love the direction they took in leaning in towards the 80s horror movie as opposed to horror movies today that rely on actually scaring you. The movie was basically blood/gore free except for a few scenes but they definitely made up for it with an amazing use of shadows and sound design. Felt insanely accurate to how the games were as well. Overall highly suggest seeing it to anyone who's a fan of the games!
