After October, I thought Varun wouldn't be able to pursue his penchant for off beat and unconventional cinema anymore. But Bawaal proved me wrong and I'm glad. Such a beautiful movie rarely comes out of bollywood. Watch it without thinking twice. The metaphors of war within and outside, loss, greed and a certain hope and playfulness to deal with atrocities of life is just amazing. Every little aspect of this story is heartfelt. The actors have done an absolutely phenomenal job.

I don't really need to write this review. But I will for the sake of my sanity and closure. I have seen almost all the horror there is to watch. I have never liked movies that are gore and call themselves horror. But this series changed that for me. You have not watched horror and gore like this before. The actors, director, screenwriters, and most importantly, the Novelist on whose work this series is based know what horror and gore should deliver. Zero jump scares, rich story arcs, and deep character development. I legit questioned my taste for horror and gore after watching this. This is dark stuff.
