Prior to watching this movie I had never heard of Father Stu. I just happened to go to bed and clicked on a channel to fall asleep too. It didn't work. I was immediately captivated by this story and through it all my eyes did not leave the screen. It was by far one of the most moving theatre presentations I have ever seen. At 78 years old I have been trying to go to God for at least seventy of those years. There were times when I thought that I was there but when reality struck, I wasn't. This movie showed me my countless failures at approaching the Lord and the manner in which I thought was right. I recorded the movie and will be watching it several times for sure.
If you think you are there with God, watch this movie for sure. Because if you are really not there yet, after viewing you will know why and you will be introduced as to how to get there. Absolutely one of the very best movies I have seen in my lifetime. Mark played an awesome role with credibility and passion (he also produced).
The last point is that it played on FX and the ratings, given by whomever, were at 41% approval......for shame on the person/s responsible for such an unfounded review rating. This deserved at least in the 90% range.
