Though sickening to watch in many parts, I see this movie as a dark tale of abuse and the plague of child mistreatment, but disguised as a kind of twisted romance from the abusers perspective. I find that perspective to be interesting, as any normal person can view this and, no matter how "sympathetic" Humbert might come off, will still hate him. I do however think the 3rd act is far too drawn out. Overall, I will give this movie a good rating because, if the intentions were to further make the viewer despise abusers, it does its job well.
