The pacing is outright frantic, the plot is contrived, the movie spends so much time on fan service and retcons that it never feels like it's actually going anywhere.
It would be a fine Michael Bay production. It's packed with action and explosions. As a Star Wars movie, it fails miserably. There's no character development. Most of the cast is irrelevant and become glorified cheerleaders for Rey and Kylo Ren, the only two that matter in this movie.
This movie painfully highlights the fact that there was no plan for the trilogy. One wonders why they bothered making one movie just to have another undo the entire thing. We now have a trilogy that no one really enjoys because if you like TLJ, you probably won't like this one and vice versa.
