Spoilers!! Couldn’t put the book down. So exciting and suspenseful. And the twist at the end! But I had a hard time with the protagonist, if you can really call her that. I’m guessing that was the authors intent, for you to finally close the book questioning the goodness in any of them. I found it tough to sympathize with all three main characters and I definitely finished the book disappointed by all of them. Lowen is just as guilty and evil, selfish and stupid as Verity. It shows you believe only what you want to believe. She wanted to believe Verity was guilty while reading the manuscript and after reading the letter found it hard to believe she was telling the truth. Lowen wanted her own happily ever after and wasn’t willing to ruin that. Even after taking someone else’s husband and instructing him HOW to kill his wife, she tried to justify what they did was right. Lowen never questioned Jeremy after the letter and they ride off into the sunset… I mean… she did that for love. What extent should someone do something for love? My answer… not that.
