This book is a part 2 of 'The Third Wheel' but anyways... let me run down the main cast like I usually do in my reviews of this series. We have the ego-centric, selfish protagonist, Greg Heffley. We have his mean brothers, Manny and Rodrick. Susan is the overprotective mum and Frank is the strict dad. This time, the best friend Rowley and his girlfriend, Abigail are the main antagonists, as well as the Mingo Kids being minor antagonists. There isn't much to say about the plot. It is mainly Greg going through 'hard luck'. He tries to be friends with Fregley but that backfires. (SPOILER ALERT) At the end of the book, Greg becomes friends with Rowley again after Abigail breaks up with Rowley. (SPOILER ENDS) Overall, you should read this book. Sadly, 'Hard Luck' is probably the final book before the series' slow drop in quality.

One of the best movies that I've ever seen. The Lion King is so fun, has a good message, great voice actors, fun songs. The story is really interesting, Simba is one of the best main characters that Disney has made because he is so believable. Nala is great because her relationship with Simba is believable (compared to other Disney relationships). Pumbaa and Timon are a funny duo and are really funny. Mufasa is one of the best characters in the film and is generally likeable. Zazu is also quite funny along with Rafiki. The villain, Scar is really entertaining and has the best song in the film. Overall, this film is great and I think that people of all ages would enjoy this.

Okay, this one is interesting. Lets give you the rundown of the main cast as usual. Greg, the selfish protagonist who never develops. Rowley, the goofy and gullible best friend. Rodrick and Manny are Greg's mean brothers. Susan is the overprotective mum and Frank is the strict dad. We also have Abigail, a girl who Greg and Rowley meet. The antagonist is Uncle Gary, even though he barely does anything antagonistic. I haven't got much to say about this book but the real plot happens in the second half when there is a school valentines dance and Greg and Rowley take a girl named Abigail to the dance and it fails miserably. This book is kind of like a 'part 1' to the eight book. (SPOILER) So, at the end, after things go horribly, Abigail and Rowley become a couple. (SPOILER ENDS). Overall, you should probably read it because it is like a part 1 to the eight book. It is also enjoyable.

Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones

While not as good as The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones is still a pretty good Star Wars film. Episode 1 has set up the universe of Star Wars in a nice adventure tale, Attack of the Clones now starts the true story of the saga. Many of the comedic aspects and characters from The Phantom Menace have been pushed aside, which makes sense, now that the saga is getting focused on the story, things need to become more serious, and they do, with a murder attempt on the Senator of Naboo in the first five minutes of the film. A lot of people complained about the acting of Hayden Christensen in this movie, but he did well with what he was given with. It is no question that Anakin had some... questionable dialogue in this movie, but Hayden Christensen was very good at playing the part. Some of the villains from Episode 1 are carried over here, the main two being Nute Gunray (my second favourite villain/character) and Darth Sidious. Two new villains are introduced, Jango Fett and Count Dooku, both of which are great antagonists. This is a great movie, worth the watch.

Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace

This film is a great introduction to the Star Wars saga, even if you start with the Originals or start with the Prequels. It is an over-all nice sci-fi adventure story which introduces the way the universe in Star Wars works and also introduces some of the most important characters in the series. Many people seem to hate this film because of Jar Jar Binks. However, I do not mind him as he does provide some laughter in an otherwise mostly serious environment. Jar Jar is good for this movie's 'happier' tone, but it was necessary that he was pushed back for the rest of the saga, once it started to get more dark. The CGI, while some of it may looked a TINY bit outdated today, is way ahead of it's time. The acting in this film is amazing and the characters are written well. Like I said, some of the characters are a bit more comedic/cheesy but it does fit with the somewhat colourful tone of this movie, while the rest of the series gets darker and more mature. The Phantom Menace's characters are very good, even though it is hard to figure out who the protagonist is. The three main villains, Darth Sidious, Darth Maul and Viceroy Gunray are great for this movie and do pose as a threat; with Darth Sidious literally being the phantom menace, controlling things from behind the scenes; Darth Maul being a frightening villain and Viceroy Gunray being the head of an army, which invades a planet at the start of the film. Another complain is that the plot does slow down towards the middle of the film, but this is really nothing. Despite there being not as much action as the other films in the saga, The Phantom Menace certainly introduces viewers to the franchise and is surely worth the watch.

So this book takes place in the summer, just after the events of the Last Straw. Then there is the goofy and gullible best friend, Rowley Jefferson. We also have the older brother Rodrick and little brother Manny, who both like to bully Greg. Then there is the strict dad, Frank. In this book the antagonist is Susan, the overprotective mum. We also keep the same supporting cast from the previous books. This book doesn't really have a plot and is more just about Greg trying to stay indoors all summer and play video games, but Susan objecting to this. Greg tries to impress a high school student named Heather Hills. He also tries to set up a lawn-care business with Rowley, which ends up failing. Overall, you should read it but it isn't the best in the series.
