I used to love M&W but this just feels old, tired and repetitive. And the sketches are far too long when the joke has already been delivered in the first thirty seconds.

Beautiful direction, great cast. Some good dialogue. And then? Meh. So many hackneyed tropes it’s almost a spoof: Embittered maverick cop with a troubled backstory, chip on his shoulder and car crash home life? Tick. Boss under pressure from above to get detection rates up? Tick. Quirky supporting cast with interesting appearance or personality traits? Tick. Needlessly old car? Tick There’s more but I ran out of interest in listing them: you get the idea. If you like comfortable, predictable ’edgy’ uk-scandi police drama you’ll love it. If like me you feel like every police show these days is just a rehash of the last one, you won’t miss out by not watching. Not terrible, just insipid and unimaginative.
