Super fun. Marvel-lous entertainment. It's big enough for a Marvel movie, with plenty of heart beneath it's fun exterior.

A delightfully slow-burn for an alien story. If you don't enjoy getting to know characters, and moving through multiple character's stories with depth, then this show isn't for you. It follows various people living through an alien invasion, generally getting to a dramatic moment before jumping to the next story. This creates a build-up of tension across entire episodes, with just hints of the alien menace. I love it. There are a number of bad or luke-warm reviews of this show. I feel they are missing the show. I sense many of the poorer reviews are focused on how Invasion isn't meeting their expectations. I don't believe that is the show's problem, it is the reviewer's. I am not saying this is the greatest show ever. I am currently giving it 4 stars, having only seen the first 5 episodes. Invasion is delivering a compelling, tense, very relatable story. Many character reactions in this show ring true, which is rare in my experience.

Flawless, beautiful writing, acting, music and cinematography.

This show has all the Star Wars props, costumes, and sets, but is written like a bad, young adult drama. I am open to many approaches for storytelling and character writing, but this just reeks of cliche and recycled ideas shoved into a star wars suit. Really wanted to love it. Really couldn't believe how dumb the writing was. Oh, and the soundtrack is way off. It's as if the sound designer/music team has never seen Star Wars. It mostly distracts and feels heavy handed. (OK, Star Wars can be heavy handed, but when done well, that is part of its charm.)
