I just watch the segment regarding the nurse shortage. Last week I went into the hospital for heart surgery, which, BTW, was very scary. I want to say a few things about why nurses are leaving, and what hospital administrators should do to keep the nursing heroes we have today. My nurses were extraordinary, going above and beyond what they are paid to do every day even though they are short-staffed, they are right there when you need them. Hospital Administrators, Congresspeople, and Government bigshots during the COVID crisis Health Professionals were praised as HEROES! Now the crisis is over, and they are treated as ZEROES. Instead of scrimping on paying these wonderful heroes, give them raises! Make working conditions better! Give them better benefits. Nurses and Doctors should receive the same health care as Politicians in Congress; God knows they are more effective than our Politicians. Do you want to stop the exodus of nurses and health care professionals? THEN PAY THEM WHAT THEY DESERVE! Treat them as the professionals they are. We need them, not the Administrators who make millions of dollars. Most people don't realize how much good nurses and health care professionals do for us until they are in pain, sick, or dying. Take care of our healthcare professionals NOW!
