"The movie is watchable, but I believe producer Karan Johar completely missed the mark on the love story aspect—it doesn't feel like a love story at all. Instead of a sequel, perhaps titled Dhadak 2, a movie with a strong social justice theme, such as Jai Bhim, Mera Desh Mera Haq (My Country, My Right), or Hamara Adhikar (Our Right), would have been a massive box office success that could have broken all previous records."
