I had questions about the authors interpretation of history, but stopped reading when she got into the events of Ferguson, MO. Her depiction of police killing blacks was a real stretch of facts when she talked of Michael Brown. “ Michael Brown was killed by a police officer while people videoed with cameras”. She forgot the facts of the case about Darren Wilson and the investigation afterwards about the facts. For ones that didn’t attend the trial, the author might have you believe that Darren Wilson murdered the innocent Michael Brown with no provocation. Be careful of historians that paint history they way they want it to be, not what it was.
