This is a great film for any Beach Boys fan. It’s a sad yet inspiring tale. It seems Brian’s mental illness had already started before he did drugs, but it probably didn’t help. There was a lot of crying in the car, listening to old songs. It was the “beach” songs that made me fall in love with The Beach Boys but it was Brian’s later albums (Pet Sounds, Smiley Smile, etc.) that kept me interested.
