The film is a far cary from Liam Neeson's usual films where he's chock full of bravado chasing down bad guys and inspiring fear along the way. In The Marksman, Neesom plays the role of a broken man beset by the passing of his wife and inability to keep his life together. The film sporadically emits gasps of potential but such effusions fade fast, leaving you with a dull movie riddled with bad acting, sub-mediocore special effects, and a plot with no depth that continues to unwind itself incoherently. It's hard to bear a movie where Neesom, a prior marine, is emasculated by a cartel boss who is as badass as Neesom was in Taken.
