Not many redeeming qualities about this iteration of a batman movie. How I disdain thee, let me count the ways: As a stand alone movie, if you have no history of who batman is, then this would be a decent movie - ala the latest joker movie. Where this movie falls short, is how poorly they depict the batman in contrast to how we know him to be. Without any spoilers, I find this iteration to be quite primitive, from his suit to the vehicle he drives. The villains were lackluster to say the least. The manner in which they attempted to portray a more realistic penguin and riddler, instead of sticking with more accurate depictions of the comics that most people are familiar with, lacks any sort of punch and just felt flat. All in all, the movie lasts one hour too long for what is a very slow burning crescendo. Had this movie been titled "Gotham's greatest detective" it would have set expectations a bit more appropriately.
