While on the surface The Orivile might crude to some, it’s really quite deep. I find myself thinking how nice it would be if the writers of The Orville were really fortune tellers. I forget what episode but there was a line spoken on the show by Seth McFarlane: “When we’re better, we all do better.”. Simple and true. One point I see the show making is that even in a utopian society, we still have some of the same problems with our relationships. The characters have respectable levels of depth, and it’s refreshing to see that the characters are allowed to be themselves uncensored.
Watching it, you're likely to see some very embarrassing situations. Since no one is trying to get the upper hand on each other, they jump right in to solve each other’s problems without any hesitation. While I certainly understand that this is typically not how the real world works, it is a most excellent formula for how it could work. If you’re a sci-fi fan, have a sense of humor, or want ideas on how to improve your social life, you’ll definitely enjoy this show.
