Simple yet beautiful and poetic story of 2 friends, and the different perspective of their relationship. Incredibly thought provoking and humorous, while remaining moving and passionate. Amazing portrayal of feelings within a one-sided friendship while providing commentary on goodness vs. recognition, how different people deal with despair, pain or sorrow and the humor in all of it. The values and ideas it's portraying are still very relevant today, as they are about raw human emotions (though portrayed quite artistically, metaphorically and sometimes as comedic relief.)
I feel sorry for those who write it off as "boring, dull, depressing". They are missing out on so much. The movie points at those qualities and, in a way points the finger at the viewer. Choosing to dismiss this movie because of its "simplicity" or disregarding something because it doesn't immediately relate or quickly grab our attention means we miss out on so many experiences and perspectives.
