Terrible! If you’ve read the books, you won’t recognize Three Pines—the cozy remote village in the pines—not suburbia as depicted in the series. And Gamache! In the TV series he seems needy and uncertain, not at all like the fine detective he is in Louise Penny’s stories. Many of the other characters lack the charm and warmth they have in the books. Clara in the TV series is not even remotely like the Clara in the books. And as others have said, Ruth is a cartoon edition of her character the books. Really disappointed! And as others have said, each book deserves a series on its own to portray all the complexity of the books.
