English aristocracy flowed in Julian Fellowes' veins. Downton Abby was brilliant. The Gilded Age shows him as a fish out of water. Characters are one dimensional and monotone.! The women are written as shrews, even good actresses have one-note parts. The drama, too, is minuscule and hackneyed.
