Thugs of Hindostan : Hanging by the lone cliff of cinematography
Rating - 2.5/5
So it's the day after Diwali and you plan on watching the supposed blockbuster of the season - "Thugs of Hindostan" .
Well I hate to be the bearer of bad news but the imagined Aloo bumb will turn out to be a Phuski bumb for all you Amir and Amitabh diehards out there (it's a metaphor in case you didn't get it)
Don't get me wrong here , I am not condoning the acting prowess of the big names present in the movie ; it is the bloated storyline and choppy historical accuracy that is in the question .
The character build-up is poor and the story drags around the same monotonous narrative . So much so that I had to force myself to watch the second half ; for my popcorn bucket was still half full .
The only thing saving the movie is the enchanting and big-budgeted cinematography and Amir Khans' comic timing .
The rest is the same old tedious b-roll we are accustomed to see - A couple of item songs , pinch of action here and there and a happy go lucky ending . Nothing out of the ordinary .
Overall a bummer for the big acting name fanatics . Better luck next time Mr. Vijay Krishna Acharya .
