One of the absolute worst things to come out of Star Wars and indeed all of Disney for a long time. The plot is stupid, the acting for most of the characters is unbelievable, and the dialogue is some of the worst I’ve heard in the series (even worse than the prequels). One of the biggest sins this show does is decide when it feels like the force actually matters. Sometimes Kenobi is struggling to lift a small rock. Other times he’s taking down giant stone pillars with minimal effort. For almost the entire show Kenobi is shown to be out of practice, a pushover for any young inquisitor to take down. But in the final episode, somehow he just gains all the fighting skills he’s lost without any training. The characters are all boring/uninteresting. Every one is just either a cliche mess or just plain boring. The show WANTS you to care about the new side characters, like Haja and Roken, and so shoves them into the plot and keeps them there. We already know most of these characters are going to survive, so the show tries to create tension that just doesn’t exist. We knew Leia was in no danger, same with Obi Wan, Luke, Owen and all of the rest of the OT characters. Almost all of the new characters are really overdone as well, almost to the point of cartoons. Reva for instance; the show tries to make her seem like the baddest badass to ever badass, and yet by doing this they’ve turned her into such an unthreatening child. I think the actress clearly has talent, and if Reva was written a lot better she could’ve been a genuine threat and a very interesting character, and yet they chose to make her a walking, talking cliche, evil and cutting the hands off of civilians in one seen and yet spares people who openly threaten and try to stop her without a second thought. She’s very inconsistent. AND LEIA. Her acting is wooden, her dialogue is unbelievable for a 10 year old child who seems even younger than that, and almost all of her scenes are just ridiculous (the chase scene, the roof top jump, the terrible “torture” scene with Reva) and to top it all off, they pretty much make it so nothing can truly threaten her. Even Reva, who’s powers worked on grown men and could even sense Kenobi when nearby, couldn’t even make a dent on Leia’s mind. This ten year old child was just too strong for her I guess. The fight scenes had no tension and mostly consisted of someone just running away. The fights just had no weight to them, and the show always seems to forget that these characters have the force. So many of the fights could’ve been stopped or fully prevented if they just remembered the could actually use the Force. It’s just ridiculous half the time to see so many problems that could’ve just been solved instantly without making them seem so drawn out and overdone. Overall, this was the last nail in the Star Wars coffin for me. The quality of Star Wars has severely tanked in my opinion, and I can’t and won’t make my self suffer through another fanbait show. I was so excited for this show and even watched it all the way through just to see if maybe I caught a bad episode. Yet sadly, for all my dwindling patience, it was just another junk fanbait that just didn’t need to happen. The only reason this show exists is because Disney knows that fans will come see these shows and movies hoping to recapture some of what made the first movies so iconic and magic. All it was was another cash grab for Disney.

As a huge fan of the Halo series, I’m sad to say that this show is not what it should be at all. The show itself looks good, and the costume and set design both look good, but that’s where the good ends for me. They’ve butchered characters like Keyes and even Chief himself. In the very first episode he takes his helmet off and we clearly see his face, something that should never happen in a Halo game. He also leaves it off for the rest of the episode. Making the entire plot just him taking care of a little kid that he’s been ordered to kill just makes this whole show feel like Mandalorian lite. The memory plot is also ridiculous. I’ve heard it said that the team that made this have never played the games or the books, and that really shows. The best part was the first ten minutes, and that’s when there wasn’t any plot, just people getting murdered by the covenant. I’d avoid this one if I were you, even if you’re a huge fan. Especially if you’re a huge fan. The only reason this gets a two and not a one is because some of the first person shots and the elites looked cool, but other than that it would get a one.
