Horrible movie. LaKeith Stanfield was so painful to watch. Everyone else did as good as expected. The horrible CGI bastardization of Jamie Lee Curtis was very offensive. This movie felt very Scooby Doo from an alternate universe.
The story was dry and flat. I couldn’t get invested at all. I looked away often and felt like I missed nothing. The story was extremely rushed and there were little ghost interactions.
I was really hoping this would be a great follow up to The Haunted Mansion from 2003. This is clearly a great value version of the original. With modern technology they had so much potential. I would have rather this have been a sequel, prequel, or remake.
Another annoyance was the ridiculousness of the technology. A quantum what lens? Powered by a camera battery? Why did he need this fancy lens if the $150 BestBuy security cameras with IR can see them just the same? Then they completely gave up on using it and just started showing the ghosts since it broke 30 minutes in.
